Biography
Homeland: Skyrim
History: Ande was born and raised in Skyrim, in the capitol of Solitude. Being an Altmer, he had a natural affinity for magic and a curiosity for it. Neither of his parents were passionate about magic, and Ande never encountered anyone with magical talent while living in Solitude. This left him alone to study magic at his own pace, and to become a bit big-headed about his skills. At the age of 20 left his parents to study at the College of Winterhold, but did not pass his first attempt at entrance. The failure crushed his ego, and he immediately dove into studying magic on his own in order to prepare himself for another test. The rigor of his studies pushed Ande into an overachiever and perfectionist, as well as taking him on adventures across Skyrim.
Within a year, Ande had lost sight of his goal to enter the College, instead spending his time searching ruins, spelunking in caves and meeting new people. He became proficient in destruction magic, and for almost two years perfected his skills while encountering various things and people that tried to kill him. While adventuring, he came across a large, curved wall with ancient markings that seemed to whisper to him. When he got closer, the absorption of knowledge scared the living hell out of him. When he overcame his fear, he became fascinated with the wall and its carvings. Ande began searching for more and more of the walls, trying to understand what they were and what was happening to him.
Eventually he was directed to the Gray Beards, and he stayed with them for a year to learn all they could teach him. The idea of being Dragon Born was strange to him, and he decided to keep the knowledge to himself since he was unsure what to do with it. For the next two years, he searched and studied the walls on his own, looking for any clues as to where he could find another one.
Unfortunately, Ande encountered a nest of Necromancers while searching for more Thu'um walls, and discovered that fighting other mages with Destruction magic was difficult and dangerous. He was captured and held for nearly a month, tortured and experimented upon while being forced to live in terrible conditions. Using the power of his learned Thu'um and conjuration, he escaped when an opportunity presented itself. After he recovered in the small settlement of Riverwood, Ande began rigerously practicing sword combat and building his physical strength. Four months later he set out with grim determination to wipe-out the group of Necromancers. Ande succeeded with alarming efficiency. He still bears the scars from being held prisoner, and his left eye was too badly damaged to be healed fully.
The High Elf continued to search for Thu'um walls and wiping out any Necromancy-laden hole he found. At the age of 52, he was once again reminded of the College of Winterhold, and journeyed there immediately to supplement his knowledge of the Thu'um and ancient Nordic history. He passed the entrance exam without a second thought, and went straight for the College library.
When the war broke out, both of his parents moved back to the Summerset Isles. Ande adapted by avoiding Nordic towns and keeping himself buried in research, talking almost exclusively with the Khajeet caravans for supplies on the road. When the war ended, he adopted a Nordic name 'Hans' in an attempt to ease any conflict around himself. The aftermath of the war turned Ande into a highly philosophical person, and he became a pacifying force between fellow Nords and Elves, defending those that needed defending and speaking with those who were angry or scared.
Now, Hans is a slight oddity within the College, but an appreciated one. He rarely stays in the College, as he is still searching for more Thu'um walls in an effort to understand himself better (Or he is running more dangerous errands for someone in the guild). He will not refuse an audience with anyone, and has accepted the racism and hate he has encountered from everyone, believing that time will heal all wounds. Over the years he has visited all of the holds of Skyrim, and his quiet charisma has earned him a 'tolerated' status with even the most hostile shop keepers. Ande still tries to avoid most settlements while on errands or his own personal mission, which makes him very difficult to find on any day.
